Zapper: One Wicked Cricket Review

Zapper: One Wicked Cricket is a lot like a much more casual, and player friendly Frogger game. You play as a cricket that goes through various platforming levels avoiding traps and enemies, collecting fireflies, and progressing to each new stage. As you go through the levels, you’ll need to collect the cricket eggs that are scattered throughout.

Throughout the levels there’s various secrets hidden that you can find that will ultimately open up a secret bonus level if you find them all, Atmospheric. The secrets aren’t necessary for beating the game, so you don’t have to worry about finding them all, but if you’re a completionist you’ll need to find all forty hidden throughout the game.

There’s also a few puzzles in the game, but they’re infrequent enough to not really mention heavily. When they do appear, they’re simple and fairly straightforward so it doesn’t really require a whole lot of effort to figure out.

Zapper: One Wicked Cricket Review Conclusion

I honestly don’t have a whole lot to say about this game. It doesn’t require a lot of skill, it feels good, and the puzzles are fairly simple and user friendly. This game really does feel like a much more casual version of Frogger games which isn’t bad, but it’s also not great. The game lacks substance and is fairly choreographed. Once you’ve beaten it, you’ve seen pretty much all there is to it, bar a bonus level or two. The game isn’t great, but it’s certainly not bad.
