Zoids: Full Metal Crash Review With Gameplay

Zoids: Full Metal Crash is a Japanese mech fighter that is an incredibly fluid, and fun fighting game! I generally am not super fond of fighting games overall, but I think that this is one of the games that has been done right.

Despite the game being written entirely in Japanese, it’s not a game that you need to understand to be able to play completely. You can play through the game without actually knowing what’s going on, or reading any of the story. There’s a few prompts that appear but you can just press A on them and proceed without any real issues. There are a couple prompts that you have to go through more than once, but all you really need to do is select different prompts and you’ll progress.

The game itself feels wonderful! There’s very few fighting games that I’ve played where I outright enjoyed the gameplay of it. I’m not super big on fighting games as a whole, but this one did the fighting genre really well. The gameplay is super fluid, smooth, and just feels good as a whole. I thought that the giant robots would feel big and clunky, but it feels surprisingly good!

The difficulty of the game isn’t hard by any means. A lot of fighting games have difficult learning curves to pick them up but Zoids: Full Metal Crash isn’t one of them. The game is very easy to pick up and learn as you play. The CPU difficulty feels like it’s almost always pointed in the players favor instead of having an over aggressive and punishing CPU which I thoroughly enjoyed over other fighting games.

Zoids: Full Metal Crash Review Conclusion

I overall very much enjoyed this Zoids game. I’m not big on fighting games at all, but this was a great game to play. The game is fun, it feels great, the difficulty is very fair, and I’m sure if I was able to read the dialogue the story would be fairly decent all other things considered.
